TIGERS CONTINUE STRONG INDOOR SEASON WITH WALTER CRAMER INVITE

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – In their third home meet of the indoor season, the Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's track & field teams posted another strong showing when they hosted the Walter Cramer Invite Saturday afternoon.

Linda Griffith (25.10) and Kimberly Brent (25.29) finished 1-2 in the 200-meter dash. Brent also finished runner-up in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.88 while Griffith tabbed a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.95. Tera Miler was sixth (8.09) and Olivia Sturrup was eighth in the 60-meter dash. Hannah Antkoviak took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.01 while Kiara Carter was fifth in the 200-meter dash.

Four Tigers finished in the top eight of the 400-meter dash. Antkoviak won in 57.23, Carter was third in 58.67, Carsyn Burdine was fourth and Tori Orton eighth. Heidi Heldt continued her success in the 800-meter run with a runner-up finish at the Walter Cramer Invite (2:25.13).

Thaliyah Martinez crossed the finish line at 3:18.36 to take second in the 1000-meter run. Amelia Murray was not far behind in fourth place (3:21.71). Mackenzie Park collected a sixth-place finish in the 1-mile run at 5:47.70. Jacey Schickel (10:36.56) and Eleanor Fournier (10:45.23) cracked the top eight in the 3000-meter run, placing fifth and eighth, respectively.

Hailey Perrine's jump of 5.18 meters was good for third in the long jump. Tristyn Grube was fifth (5.10 meters) and Jolene Mantoan was sixth (5.03 meters). Olivia Earl cleared 3.27 meters to tie for fourth in the pole vault, while Ellie Schoon placed seventh (2.97 meters). Mantoan placed third at 10.99 meters while Perrine was fifth (10.55 meters) and Addison Adams placed eighth at 9.91 meters.

Lana Krohe led a trio of Tigers inside the top four of the shot put. She won with a 12.92-meter throw while Courtney Hall was the runner-up at 12.43 meters. Sarah Schoonmaker hit an 11.71-meter mark to place fourth. Hall then led the Tigers in the weight throw with a 15.92-meter toss, good for fourth. Kayla Mikottis was fifth (15.50 meters) and Elizabeth Treadway was seventh.

Vince Giuliano led five Tigers inside the top eight in the 400-meter dash. He won with a time of 49.41, the only runner to clock in under 50 seconds. George Hannah was third at 52.06, Jonathan Thomas placed fifth, Connor Betts took sixth and Ben Tavares was eighth. Betts also placed sixth in the 200-meter dash at 22.98.

Jalen Dunnigan made the finals in the 60-meter dash, placing seventh at 7.12, a mere seven-hundredths of a second behind the winner at 7.05. Brayden Furtado clocked in at 9.62 to place fifth in the 60-meter hurdles.

Max Grant (1:56.50) and Erik Richter (1:57.09) finished 1-2 in the 800-meter run, while Joey Puccillo (1:59.80) and Brett Hulliberger (1:59.93) placed sixth and seventh, respectively.

The ONU men excelled in the relays. The quartet of Grant, Hulliberger, Richter, and Connor Price posted a 7:54.90 to win the 4x800 relay by a 42-second margin, while Chapman Neal, Mabaraka Mmbumba, Hayden Colclasure, and Puccillo teamed up to finish runner-up in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:30.44.

Noah Sears, the reigning CCAC Field Athlete of the Week, continued his dominance in the pole vault, winning the event by clearing 4.85 meters. Ian Hollom hopped over the 1.82-meter height to take third in the high jump. Creedon Welsch placed in the top eight in both the long and triple jumps, placing third in the former (6.43 meters) and sixth in the latter (11.61 meters). Ivan Williams placed sixth in the long jump.

Brody Vollrath and Daniel DeRamus split two-thirds of the podium in both the shot put and weight throw. In the shot put, Vollrath hit a 14.32-meter mark to take second while DeRamus placed third with a 13.87-meter throw. DeRamus then won the weight throw with a 15.49-meter throw. Vollrath was right behind in second at 15.48 meters.

WHATS NEXT?

The Tigers will head over to Allendale, Mich. to compete in the two-day GVSU Big Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State University, on Feb. 10-11.
