ANTKOVIAK NAMED TO CSC ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAM

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – After winning a national title in the 400-meter hurdles at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May, Hannah Antkoviak added another accolade to her impressive resume when she was named to the prestigious 2023 Academic All-America Women's Track & Field Team, as voted on by College Sports Communicators (CSC). She received second team recognition.

The CSC Academic All-America Team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA institutions, who are selected based on their work athletically and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.

Antkoviak, from Allegan, Mich., crossed the finish line first at 56.71 to win a national championship in the 400-meter hurdles, the first individual title for ONU track & field since 2019. She also won a pair of conference titles at the CCAC Outdoor Championships, winning the 100-meter hurdles (13.68) and 400-meter dash (25.67). Antkoviak, who was also named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete earlier this month, is majoring in Art Education at Olivet Nazarene University.

Antkoviak becomes the ninth Tiger to earn CSC Academic All-America recognition this year. She joins Fabio Hasler (men's soccer) and Alexandria Jones (women's golf) as a second team academic all-American this year. Justin Eisenmann (men's soccer), Nick Kilian (men's soccer), Megan Schroeder (women's swim & dive), Mason Beall (men's swim & dive), Nicholas Klenner (men's swim & dive) and Jake Ostema (men's volleyball) were all first team academic all-America selections.
