TROJANS SNAP THE TIGER SIX-MATCH WIN STREAK ON TUESDAY NIGHT

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball fell in straight sets to Trinity International University at McHie Arena on Tuesday night. 

 

The Trojans got off to a hot start as they marked 7 of the first 10 points.  Katarina Nikolic and Sutton Bate marked kills for the Tigers.  Trinity International led by as much as eight at 19-11.  Kills from Becca Bell and Carleigh Johnson did not slow down the potent Trojan attack as TIU took the first set, 25-16.  Bell led with three kills and Janelle Skinner marked five assists. 

 

Kaitlyn Kolb, Johnson, and Nikolic provided the early offense for the Tigers as they led early, 6-3. The Trojans then took a 10-8 lead and they never lost the lead.  The Tigers cut the Trojan lead to two on three different occasions but TIU ended up taking the second set, 25-20. 

 

The Tigers grabbed the early momentum of the third set as they scored 7 of the first 10 points.  Bell, Nikolic, and Hadleigh Loitz provided the early offense for the Tigers.  The Trojans then turned the tide on the Tigers as they eventually took the lead, 15-13.  Then, the Tigers tied the set at 19. 

 

Unfortunately, the Tigers could not climb back in the set as they fell, 25-22 in the third set and fell, 3-0.
