FOUR WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES SELECTED TO CCAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONOR ROLL

CHICAGO—The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) reveled on Monday morning its selections for All-Conference and Players of the Year.  The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball were well-represented in the honor roll. 

 

After spectacular season, Kaitlyn McMahan won Libero of the Year and a first-team All-CCAC nod.  McMahan became the first Tiger to win the award since Alex Ewalt won it in 2018.  Joining McMahan as a first-team selection was Janelle Skinner.  The Tigers also saw a pair of second-team selections.  Those selections were Becca Bell and Rachel Newport

 

A native of Grant Park, Ill., McMahan had a stellar season for the Tigers.  The Tiger libero led the CCAC with 623 total digs, 5.82 digs a set, and with 54 total service aces.  Additionally, McMahan was second in the CCAC with 0.50 service aces a set and was CCAC Libero of the Week twice this season. In the 2021 season, the Tiger senior amassed 30 digs in five matches including notching a career-high 37 in the win at Saint Ambrose on October 19th. In her career, McMahan ranks sixth all-time with 1,724 digs. 

 

Rounding out the first-team selections was Janelle Skinner.  Skinner, a native of Bolingbrook, Ill., led the Tigers and was fifth in the conference with 765 assists and averaged 7.15 assists a set, which is good for eighth in the conference.  Additionally, Skinner notched 242 digs this season as well.  The Tiger setter amassed eight matches of 30+ assists and two matches of 50+ assists including a season-high 57 in the CCAC Quarterfinal against Judson. In her career, Skinner ranks sixth all-time with 2,809 assists. 

 

A native of Salem, Wis., Bell gets the nod for the second-team.  Bell had a successful 2021 campaign with 303 total kills, averaging 2.86 kills a set.  Additionally, Bell led the team with 86 total blocks and 371 total points.  Bell was also eighth in the CCAC and second on the Tigers with a .258 hitting percentage.  A native of Avon, Ind., Newport earned the nod for the second-team.  The Tiger senior racked up 290 kills, 49 digs, and 55 blocks.  Newport led the team and was seventh in the CCAC with a hitting percentage of .270. 

 

This is the second year in a row that McMahan and Skinner achieved first-team honors.  This is the fourth year that Bell won all-conference honors.  The Tiger senior garnered first-team honors in 2019 and 2020 and notched second-team honors in 2018 and 2021. This is the third straight season that Newport won second-team honors. 

 

The Tigers finished the 2021 season with a 19-10 record and 14-4 in the CCAC.
