TIGERS MAKE QUICK WORK OF TROLLS; WIN IN STRAIGHT SETS

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball team ambushed the Trolls of Trinity Christian to roll to a 25-20, 25-17, 25-20 win Thursday night.

With the game tied at 11 in the opening set, Kaylee Cozen put away three straights kills to give ONU the lead. The lead ballooned to seven after a Cozen ace and a Kaitlyn Kolb kill. The Tigers would capitalize off two Troll service errors to close out the first set.

The Tigers pounced on the Trolls right off the bat in the second set. Kills from Sophia Johnston, Cozen, and Kolb helped the Tigers open up an 11-3 lead. The Trolls got close with a six-point run to make it 15-11, but two kills apiece from Halle Nicholas and from Techiya Jackson put the Tigers back in a dominant position. Jackson would put the set away with a kill to give ONU a 2-0 set lead.

The third set was the most competitive of the match, with ONU and TCC trading points and reaching a tied score at 8-8. Nicholas broke the tie with a kill, giving the Tigers a lead they would hold on to for the remainder of the set. ONU would close out the set at 25-20 to collect their third conference win in four games.
