TIGERS FAIL TO CLOSE OUT LAKERS IN FIVE-SET DEFEAT

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University squared off against the Lakers of Roosevelt University in five sets at the Goodman Center in Chicago on Thursday evening.

Both squads came into the game hot, putting up points back-to-back in the first set. Kaylee Cozen and Kelsey Todd secured kills early in the set. However, the Lakers held their dominance for the entirety of the set. Techiya Jackson managed to snatch a kill but the Tigers couldn't keep up, losing the set, 23-45.

The Tigers came out of the gates swinging, asserting their power on the court. They held the lead until RU caught up. That didn't scare the Tigers, it motivated them to keep pushing. Jackson led ONU with a series of kills, helping win the set with a score of 25-18.

The third set saw incredible back-and-forth gameplay. ONU proved they didn't come to mess around. The Tigers dominated the court of Goodman Center. They rallied off multiple kills, securing the set with a score of 25-20.

The fourth set provided that back-to-back ball game that kept ONU and RU fans on the edge of their seats. Eventually, the Lakers brought the heat and took the reins of the game. Kills by Sutton Bate and Jackson kept the Tigers right behind RU, but they weren't close enough, dropping the set with a score of 22-25.
