VALLANGEON, WHITE TAKE HOME WEEKLY CCAC CROSS COUNTRY HONORS

CHICAGO, Ill. – A pair of top finishes garnered a sweep of the weekly CCAC Cross Country Runners of the Week awards for Olivet Nazarene University, the league office announced Wednesday.

Taylor Vallangeon, a senior out of Columbus, Ohio, captured ONU's own Midwest Classic on Friday when he ran a 25:42 over the 8K course.  The senior bested 129 other runners that competed in the meet.  He also helped the Tigers to the title of the eight-team event.

Catherine White gained a top finish on Friday and then claimed Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors on Wednesday in an exciting six-day stretch for the freshman harrier.

White led a pack of 76 runners at ONU's own Midwest Classic at Aspen Ridge Golf Course. She covered the 5K course in 19:07.90. Her effort also led to a first-place finish for ONU's squad at the six-team event.

The duo and the Tigers will now head to Kentucky to compete in the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Oct. 1.
