LENTZ NAMED TO CSC ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAM
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Gavin Lentz earned recognition for his efforts in the classroom and on the gridiron when he was named to the NAIA Football Academic All-America Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Lentz was one of just 27 student-athletes named to the first team.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.
Lentz, from Phoenix, Ariz., was selected as the CSC's first-team punter after a stellar year of kicking for the Tigers. The sophomore averaged 37.1 yards per punt on 39 kicks and pinned opposing teams inside the 20-yard line eight times, earning him a spot on the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League's second team.
Off the field, Lentz carries a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in Entrepreneurship at Olivet Nazarene University.
