TIGERS AMASS OVER 400 RUSHING YARDS TO RUN PAST TROJANS

DEERFIELD, Ill. – Playing on a rain-soaked, mud-covered Leslie Frazier Field, the Olivet Nazarene University football rushed for over 400 rushing yards to blow past the Trinity International Trojans 27-14 Saturday afternoon.

The first-half offense for ONU ran through Evan Leake, who scored the only two touchdowns of the game in the first two quarters of play. He opened up the scoring when he broke off a 57-yard touchdown run on the game's opening drive and closed out the first half with another touchdown from 12 yards out, tallying over 160 rushing yards in the first half alone.

The 'Purple Wave' ONU defense was impenetrable in the first half. The Tigers limited the Trojans to one first down, forced five punts, turned the ball over on downs, and snagged a pick in the first half to keep TIU off the scoreboard through 30.

Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 14, Trinity International 0

Arthur Walker continued ONU's dominance on the ground game with a 29-yard touchdown run midway through the third, while Latrell Wade added another rushing touchdown to put the Tigers up four scores at the start of the fourth quarter.

Trinity International finally got on the scoreboard halfway through the final quarter and added another with 28 seconds to play, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers comfortably took down the Trojans 27-14 to improve to 4-2 in MSFA play.
