TIGERS TRIPPED UP BY TRINITY CHRISTIAN

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball team let a large lead slip away in the second set and never recovered in a 25-17, 29-31, 25-22 loss at Trinity Christian Saturday night.

After dropping the opening set, the Tigers stormed back in the second. Two kills from Kaitlyn Kolb and one from Kelsey Todd gave ONU a quick 8-3 lead and held the advantage to 22-19. But TCC (9-18, 7-6 CCAC) battled back with three straight points to tie the set at 22-22.

After a Troll attacking error, Kaylee Cozen dotted a service ace to put the Tigers at set point. But once again, TCC strung together three in a row to sit at set point themselves. Both teams traded points in the deuce up to 29-all, but the Tigers failed to close out the set in falling behind 2-0.

The Tigers put up a fight in the third set. Tied at 17-17, Halle Nicholas put down a kill to give the Tigers the late lead. TCC rallied to retake the lead and the Tigers stayed within one point until the Trolls pulled away late for the victory.

Nicholas paced the team with 12 kills. Kaitlyn Kolb finished with eight. Cozen and Todd each contributed seven. Anna Taylor put down three and Molly Kurtz secured a pair of kills.

Hadleigh Loitz racked up 32 assists and nine digs. Sara Serafimova led the match with her 22 digs. Karsyn Delbridge notched eight digs.

ONU (10-13, 7-6 CCAC) will close out the conference schedule against Saint Xavier in McHie Arena Thursday evening.
