TIGERS PICK UP A WIN IN DOUBLEHEADER AT INDIANA TECH

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Olivet Nazarene University softball picked up a win in a doubleheader at Indiana Tech Saturday afternoon. After holding on for the 5-4 win in the opener, the Tigers couldn't thwart the Warriors in a 3-1 game two loss.

After surrendering the lead in the bottom of the first, the Tigers evened the score in the top of the third when Faith Mikos lifted a sacrifice fly to center field that plated Margaret Landis.

ONU then put up two runs in back-to-back innings to extend their lead to four. In the top; of the fifth, Landis scored Gwen Bender with an RBI single before Mikos notched her second RBI of the day with a double. In the next inning, Bender tripled to score Kori Fricke and Kate Landis sent out an RBI single to make it 5-1 ONU.

That would prove to be the only run the Tigers could get across in game two. The 1-0 lead held until the sixth inning when the Warriors played longball with a three-run homer to take the lead.

ONU put together a rally in the final inning, loading the bases with only one out on the board. However, the Tigers couldn't bring anyone home, settling with the doubleheader split.
