RANDOLPH, MIKOTTIS PICK UP CCAC T&F ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AWARDS

CHICAGO, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's Joseph Randolph and Kayla Mikottis hit NAIA 'A' standards in claiming the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Track Athlete and Women's Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, for the seven-day period ending Feb. 4. The league office announced the selections Wednesday.

Randolph claimed a pair of meet titles en route to CCAC Track Athlete of the Week recognition. The freshman bested 84 other challengers in the 60-meter dash before finishing first out of 78 racers in the 200-meter dash.

Randolph ran a 6.85-second 60-meter dash followed by recording a time of 21.58 seconds in the 200-meter dash at ONU's own Walter Cramer Invite on Friday.  The 60-meter time was a NAIA 'B' mark, while the 200 time hit the 'A' standard.  Both marks also established new freshman records for the Tiger program.

Mikottis continued her streak of hitting the 'A' standard in the weight throw in each of the five meets that she has competed in this year en route to CCAC Field Athlete of the Week honors.  At the Cramer Invite on Friday, the senior rang up a distance of 55 feet, five inches to finish as the top collegiate performer and in second place overall.

The Tigers will be back in competition this weekend for the two-day GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Mich.
