VALLANGEON’S TOP 40 FINISH LEADS NO. 22 TIGERS AT LIVE IN THE LOU CLASSIC

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  Taylor Vallangeon was the top finisher for the No. 22 Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team at the fully-loaded Live in the Lou Classic Saturday morning in Louisville, Ky.

The defending CCAC champion posted a time of 25:27.4 in the 8k race to finish 36th overall in the 429-runner event, taking nearly a full minute off his time from two weeks prior at the Midwest Classic.

David Olmos continued his strong junior campaign, posting a sub-26-minute time to earn 73rd overall at 25:54.9. Also cracking the top 100 was Flynn Prather, crossing the finish line in 26:07.4 to place 92nd. Nick Janson and Enrique Romo crossed the finish line in tandem to round out the scoring for ONU. Janson placed 123rd at 26:19.5 with Romo a half-second behind him in 124th place (26:20.0).

The No. 23 Tigers tabbed a final score of 441 to finish 13th out of 46 teams in the men's "blue" race, posting their best team time in over four years in the process. ONU also took down three teams ahead of them in the latest NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll: No 14 St. Francis (480 points), No. 13 Taylor (554 points), and No. 17 Lewis-Clark (574 points).

The men's cross country team will turn around a short week to take on the Bethel Invitational this Friday at St. Partick's Couty Park in South Bend, Ind. The meet is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. CST.
