RV TIGERS ADVANCE TO THE CCAC TOURNAMENT FINAL

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The RV Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer team secured their spot in the CCAC Tournament Championship Final after defeating the Trolls of Trinity Christian 2-0 Wednesday night. Katie Knutte netted the game-winning goal in the first half while Melea Miller tallied the second for insurance in the second half.

It took only 16:28 for the Tigers to open the scoring. On the break, Oliva Lorenc crossed the ball to Alaina Bahr at the top of the box who volleyed first-time to Knutte at the far post who headed the ball into right corner of the goal. The senior forward scored her fourth goal and second game-winner of the campaign.

Miller added the important insurance goal in the second period for her team-leading 14th score of the season. An Abby Cash corner kick in the 78th minute of play found the forehead of the freshman forward for the score. The Bloomington, Ind. native has recorded 15 points in the last eight games played. Miller also led all players in the match with five shot attempts.

Tessa Kowalski and the ONU backline limited the Trolls to only two shots on goal. It was the third shutout recorded by the Purple and Yellow-Gold netminder.

Olivet will make their first appearance in the CCAC Tournament Championship Final since the 2019-2020 season when the Tigers defeated Cardinal Stritch 3-2. They are in pursuit of their fifth tournament championship after already securing their eighth regular season title in program history.
