ONU PLACES SIX ON THE COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer team had six student-athletes named to the 2022 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.

The CCAC regular-season champions and tournament finalists produced six CoSIDA Academic All-District members: Marissa Anderson, Alaina Bahr, Kelsey Bowling, Emily Greene, Katie Knutte, and Heidi Krueger.

Anderson, a senior defender from Shorewood, Ill., anchored the backline and the central midfield contributing to the team's eight shutouts throughout the course of the year. She earned a spot on the all-CCAC second-team for her efforts this season. Anderson is majoring in Engineering.

Bahr was named to the all-CCAC second team for ONU. The sophomore midfielder tabbed five goals and five assists on the season, closing out the year on a six-game point streak. The Bourbonnais native is currently working on her degree in Kinesiology.

Bowling, a sophomore defender from West Chicago, Ill., was a key piece of the ONU backline that blanked eight different opponents. She scored a pair of goals and assists as a defender. Bowling is majoring in Social Work.

Greene started in every game for the Purple and Yellow Gold on their CCAC regular-season title run. She scored four goals and an assist this season, including a three-point performance in a 3-0 win over Roosevelt on Oct. 15. The sophomore from St. Anne, Ill. is majoring in Marketing.

Knutte, a senior forward from Lemont, Ill., scored five goals on the year, including the game-winner in the CCAC Tournament Semifinals against Trinity Christian. She is currently working on her degree in Nursing.

Krueger was a staple on the ONU backline this year. She held an integral role in the Tigers' eight shutouts on the season. The senior from Long Valley, N.J. is working on her Master's in Business Administration (MBA).
