BRINER NAMED CSC FIRST-TEAM ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – After winning a national title in the 200-yard individual medley at the NAIA Swimming & Diving Championships in March, Halle Briner added another accolade to her impressive resume when she was named to the prestigious 2024 Academic All-America Women's Swimming & Diving Team, as voted on by College Sports Communicators (CSC). She received first-team recognition.

The CSC Academic All-America Team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA institutions, who are selected based on their work athletically and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.

Briner, from North Manchester, Ind., touched the wall first at 2:05.08 to win a national title in the 200-yard IM, knocking two full seconds off her preliminary time to pick up the gold medal. She added two more All-American finishes, finishing runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.09) before placing sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (52.06).Briner, who was also named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete earlier this month, is majoring in Business Administration at Olivet Nazarene University.

Briner becomes the second Tiger to earn CSC Academic All-America recognition this year, joining Nick Kilian (men's soccer) as a first-team selection.
