LOITZ, NICHOLAS, & SERAFIMOVA EARN ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's volleyball team had three Tigers earn recognition from the conference for their performances this season, as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) announced its postseason awards Monday.

Halle Nicholas was named first team all-conference, while Hadleigh Loitz and Sara Serafimova both earned second-team distinction from the CCAC.

After landing on the second team a year ago, Nicholas made the jump to the CCAC's first team this season. She led the team with 324 kills, which ranks sixth among all players in the CCAC, on a robust .242 hitting percentage. The 5-11 junior from Warren, Mich., recorded double-digit kills in 21 of the Tigers' 27 games this season. Nicholas notched a career-best 22 kills in a five-set win over Saint Xavier on Nov. 2.

Loitz earned a second-team selection after tallying 847 assists in 26 matches as ONU's primary setter. The 5-7 senior from Grant Park, Ill., recorded 40 or more assists in seven games this season and recorded 209 digs on the year, good for third on the team. On Sept. 26, Loitz was named the CCAC Setter of the Week after picking up 81 assists and 10 digs over two matches.

Serafimova was named to the CCAC's second team after racking up a team-leading 331 digs across 20 matches this year. The 5-7 junior from Skopje, Macedonia notched double-digit digs in 15 games played and ranked third in the conference with a 4.30 digs per set average. She was named the CCAC Defender of the Week on Oct. 24 for tabbing a career-best 35 digs in a four-set victory against Calumet.

The ONU women's volleyball team finished the season 12-15 overall and 8-6 in the CCAC, good for the fourth-best mark in the league, and reached the CCAC Tournament semifinals.
