NO. 21 WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY KICKS OFF SEASON AT FLYER FLAMES CHALLENGE

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's cross country team opened up their 2023 campaign at the Flyer Flames Challenge on the campus of Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill.

As a team, the No. 21-ranked Tigers placed fourth out of eight teams in the 4k event with a total score of 128 points. Northwestern University (Ill.) had the top team score at 15 as well as the top individual, Anna Delgado, who finished first with a time of 14:21.9

The Tigers were led by sophomore harrier Catherine White, who picked up right where she left off last year with a 19th-place finish. The 2022 CCAC Freshman of the Year crossed the finish line at 15:43.2 to lead the charge for ONU.

Eleanor Fournier was the second Tiger to cross the finish line with a time of 16:17.7. Bella Holfer was just behind her in 26th place at 16:22.5. Ella Richter finished the course with a time of 16:34.8 to place 29th while Elise Champlin rounded out the Tiger tally in 32nd place at 16:49.8.

The No. 21 ONU women will recharge this week before hosting the Midwest Classic at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Ill., on Sept. 15. The meet is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. CST.
