ONU DUO GOES 1-2 TO LEAD NO. 21 TIGERS TO VICTORY AT HOME MEET

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Junior runner Eleanor Fournier and freshman Hannah Haag went 1-2 to lead the No. 21 Olivet Nazarene University women's cross country team to victory at their home meet, the Midwest Classic, Friday evening at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Ill.

Fournier crossed the finish line first at 19:37.7 to win the women's 5k event. Haag was just a few seconds behind in second place with a time of 19:44.7 to secure the team win. The Tigers finished with 28 points behind the lead duo to win the five-team meet.

Another ONU freshman finished inside the top 10, with Bella Hoffer crossing the finish line in sixth place with a time of 20:27.8. Heidi Heldt was just two seconds behind Hoffer in fourth place, while Lauren Smith rounded out the scoring for ONU with a 12th-place finish.

ONU will take the upcoming weekend off before heading to the highly competitive Live in the Lou Cross Country Classic on Sept. 30 in Louisville, Ky.
