GRAHAM JOHNSON NAMED MSFA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Graham Johnson was named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday after helping the Olivet Nazarene University football team defeat Lawrence Tech 34-14 Saturday.
Johnson, a local product out of Bourbonnais, Ill., was 2-for-3 on field goals, including a career long 48-yarder. The sophomore kicker was also a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points in helping the Tigers take down the Blue Devils.
He was responsible for the Tigers' first six points, booting a 28-yard field goal to cap ONU's opening drive. Later in the period, he kicked his 48-yarder to put the Tigers up 6-0. Johnson then punched the PATs for the next four ONU touchdowns.
This is the first MSFA Player of the Week award for Johnson and the second-consecutive MSFA Midwest Special Teams Player of the Week award for ONU, with Evan Leake earning the honor on Sept. 18.
